SHERYL HOO, M.A., D.O. (member of Ostéopathie Québec)

Sheryl is a graduate of the Collège d’Études Ostéopathiques of Montreal which is internationally recognized as one of the best and most rigorous schools of traditional osteopathy. The full D.O. title is only conferred after 5 years of training and the successful completion of the graduate program.

Sheryl’s interest in health & wellbeing began with 14 years of intense volleyball training and competition at the club and university levels in Canada and overseas. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to complete a Master’s degree in physical education & sport psychology in 1992. Sheryl continued to test her limits with numerous challenging activities until she discovered and fell in love with the precision and art of osteopathy.

While immersed in her studies at the Collège d’Études Ostéopathiques, she also wholeheartedly explored the spiritual and meditative practice of yoga—becoming a dedicated yoga practitioner (14 years) and teacher (8 years)—inspired by the Iyengar and Ashtanga traditions.

Between 2011-2013, Sheryl volunteered with Osteopathy Without Borders for three humanitarian missions in Pakistan—working with complex cases in government & public hospitals, outreach clinics & schools in Lahore, Islamabad, and the Northern mountain villages.

She continues to deepen and diversify her knowledge, passion & skills in osteopathy with international conferences, advanced post-graduate courses, and specialized healing workshops—working with breath, epigenetics, biodynamics, and subtle energy fields. Her leisure pursuits presently include aerial circus arts & flexibility training, indoor rock climbing, bouldering, meditation, and cycling. Sheryl believes that the role of the osteopath is to listen & work with the body tissues and individual so that the person will be able to fully express, move and enjoy life to their full physical, mental, emotional and spiritual potential.
